Why This Site Exists

I spent years in investment banking and private equity, analyzing complex financial instruments for institutional investors. Break-even analysis, scenario modeling, sensitivity tables — the kind of rigor that gets applied to billion-dollar deals.

But when my own family faced their Social Security claiming decision, none of that analysis existed for them. They got a pamphlet and a phone number. The same analytical frameworks I used to evaluate billion-dollar transactions were nowhere to be found for the financial decisions that actually affect regular people.

I kept seeing the same pattern: smart people making six-figure retirement decisions based on a 5-minute conversation with an insurance agent or a blog post written by a freelancer. That's what this site exists to fix.

What Makes Us Different

Most retirement content online falls into two categories: oversimplified articles that tell you to “consult a financial advisor,” or sales funnels disguised as education. VettedRetirement is neither.

The tools on this site use the same analytical frameworks I applied to institutional deals — adapted for the decisions that matter to you. When our Social Security calculator shows you a break-even age, it uses the exact same formulas the Social Security Administration uses. When our guides explain a concept, they show you the math, not just the conclusion.
